São Paulo is known as “the city that never sleeps”, always in a fast and constant movement.
Considered the city with the largest number of people in Brazil and throughout the American Continent.
Currently the city is the main center financial, commercial and corporate sector in South America.
With so many people located in one city, it is not difficult to think about the number of curiosities that we can find in São Paulo. So let's go!
Bonsai hotel
The city owns the largest hotel chain in all of Brazil, with hotels for all tastes, in addition to several hotel options for pets, however, the interesting thing is that there are also hotels for plants in São Paulo.
In the city you will find a hotel for your bonsai.
The daily rate is charged according to the size of the vessel, per month the hotel receives more than 100 guests, a number that quadruples at the end of the year.
They not only host your bonsai, but also act as a hospital for the little plant.
If you have any disease, pest, parasites or if your leaves are dying, all treatment is carried out in this hospital.
Cochilódromo
The anthropologist Darcy Ribeiro was the one who gave the name sambadrome to the samba catwalk in Rio de Janeiro, however, its impact was so great that the name began to be used for several other occasions.
In São Paulo you will find smoking areas in restaurants, dog parks in the squares and there are also napping areas.
These are very pleasant places, decorated with simplicity and good taste, designed so that the client can take a good 30-minute nap, being gently awakened after this time, even receiving a coffee or chocolate at parting.
Napping centers work with monthly packages, where you pay to use them every day during the month, in the same way as gyms, for example.
Cacareco
In 1959, as a means of expressing their dissatisfaction, São Paulo residents decided to nominate a rhino named Cacareco, who was temporarily living in the city's zoo.
The idea came from journalist Itaborai Martins and had the support of the entire population, who gave the animal more than 100 thousand votes, which resulted in the election of the rhinoceros who now took over one of the seats in the São Paulo municipal council.
His position in the election was better than the 54 candidates, from the 12 parties at the time.
The rhinoceros, which was borrowed from Rio de Janeiro, returned to its original zoo two days before the election, which did not change the result of the vote in any way.
This movement became a symbol of the protest vote.
Pizza
In São Paulo, pizza is the first most consumed food, followed by suchi.
There are currently more than 6 thousand pizzerias, which manufacture more than 1 million pizzas every day, with 40 pizzas made per hour.
There are countless flavors and formats of pizza, including square pizza, the one sold by the meter, sweet pizzas, traditional pizzas, with stuffed edges, among many others.
As mentioned above, suchi is the second most consumed food in São Paulo, so we can also currently count on suchi pizza, a creative way they found to mix the two flavors.
